The Chamber of
Commerce is seeking to develop an adult
leadership program in Beaufort County in
partnership with Mt. Olive College of
Washington. Development of this program is
currently expected to begin in the second half
of 2007 for an initial implementation date of
January 2008.
The Leadership
Institute will be a fun, educational, and
rewarding program that is designed to meet our
community’s needs for active involvement of
informed and dedicated community leaders.
The program will
provide participants with an in-depth look at
specific topics of community interest, such as
city and county government, education, health
resources, non-profit organization, law
enforcement and the courts, and economic
development in and around Beaufort County.
The course is
designed for those who represent various
business and professional sectors of the
community. Those who want to learn more about
the community while developing and refining
leadership skills will be encouraged to
participate, whether they are new to the
Washington and Beaufort County area or have
lived here for many years.
Participants
will be selected after consideration of the
leadership potential, community interest and
involvement, accomplishments, recommendations,
and ability to assume community responsibility.
The tuition cost
of the program to participants is yet to be
determined.
