Summer is about to begin and
what better way to start the season off by joining us for
the “2009 Washington Summer Festival” on the beautiful
downtown waterfront (Stewart Parkway). Our famous collector
“T-Shirt” sales will kick off our festival.
You can
purchase your shirt from the Chamber Summer Festival
T-Shirt Booth located on the corner of Stewart
Parkway and Respess Street.
A family oriented event, the
Festival begins on Friday night (June 12th). The food vendors will be
cooking their delights with everything from Seafood,
Bar-B-Q, Hamburgers & Hot Dogs, International foods and of
course the famous Funnel Cakes, Smoothies and Ice Cream. Our
Arts & Crafts vendors will display their wares for purchase.
There will be a great variety of homemade items as well as
Flags, Bird Houses, Yard ornaments, Hand-blown glass, etc. There will be
children/adult amusement rides. What fun you will have riding the
rides and looking out over the Pamlico river.
On Friday night at 7:30pm we will have 360 Degrees Band playing on our main band stage for a beach music performance. If that doesn’t get you in the Summer Festival swing of things, then join us at 9:15pm for the Fireworks display over the beautiful Pamlico River.
Saturday (June 13th) we begin our day with Food, Arts & Craft and Amusement rides will begin at 9:00am. At 11:00am, Ronald McDonald will be here for a live performance for the children who will start off the day’s events for the children and family.
On Saturday night beginning at 7:00pm the band "NORTH TOWER" will perform Beach Music, Oldies and Top 40 entertaining us throughout the night.
Come on down and join us for fantastic entertainment for the evening.There will be an abundance of good food, good fun and entertainment. Make plans now to join us and stroll down our beautiful waterfront walkway and enjoy the “2009 Washington Summer Festival”.
